Role description
diagnoses and treats conditions related to pain and movement in order to increase patient mobility, manage acute injury or chronic diseases and improve people’s quality of life. Their duties include massaging and stretching areas of the body, providing exercises for patients to perform and manipulating joints, writing reports for doctors, educating patients about movement and exercise, and holding physical exercise sessions for patients. Physiotherapists are found in a wide range of settings, from private and public hospitals, private practices and aged care facilities to sports clubs and large companies.
