Role description
facilitates alternative resolution services for legal disputes, in which they will collaborate with two parties to draw to an acceptable resolution. Require an excellent understanding of various laws and types of disputes, as well as several negotiation tactics. Their purpose is not to deliver a decision, but to guide the sparring parties through the dispute resolution process. Mediators gather information about the case and gauge what each party believes and need. Work independently from the court system, although mediation is sometimes court-ordered. These hearings take place in private offices, meeting rooms, or off-site locations.
