Legislative Staffer

Role description

provides various support services to lawmakers, and assists legislators in the lawmaking process; including research, communications, public relations, and administrative tasks. They conduct legal research and constituent surveys to gather key information to help craft legislation. Legislative staffers prepare reports and briefings that keep legislators up-to-date on important issues to their constituents and pertinent matters with the potential to impact policy-making. Additionally, they will track the progress of a bill by monitoring committee hearings and co-sponsorship developments.
