Cardiologist
Role description
specialises in hearts and blood vessels in patients. They diagnose, treat, and prevent a wide range of heart-related illnesses. They are similar to other doctors in that they must evaluate their patients, examine their medical histories, and develop a treatment plan. Cardiologists answer patients' questions and communicate with the patients' family during treatment. Duties are specific to caring for the heart, which include ordering medical tests, (like echocardiograms, angiograms, or cardiac catheterisation), counselling patients about the risks of heart disease, and treating heart attacks, heart rhythm issues, and heart failure.
