Bridge Design Engineer
Role description
designs bridges, projects and supervises the construction, inspection, and reparation of bridges and related structures. They work with planners, construction managers, inspectors, local officials, and other parties to ensure the project meets all safety standards while also accommodating deadlines, budget guidelines, and other considerations. Bridge Design Engineers create structural plans, coordinate changes, and provide expert guidance throughout the building process. Some of their duties range from preparing and reviewing design computations, conducting research and preparing reports, and presenting findings and results to clients.
