Avionics Engineer
Role description
designs and builds spacecraft, aeroplanes, missiles, satellites and spacecraft avionics instruments. They are in charge of any issues regarding flight safety systems, landing gear, and electronic navigation systems. Avionics Engineers also test prototypes to ensure that they function as intended. In addition to these responsibilities, they might also specialise in communication, guidance, instrumentation, design, navigation and control or manufacturing procedures. For instance, one Aerospace Engineer may build a combat helicopter, whilst another may devise techniques to repair a satellite in orbit.
