Role description
conducts experiments and gathers information during space exploration missions. Astronauts undergo rigorous training to prepare for the physical and mental challenges associated with space travel. This training includes simulated spacewalks, survival training, and instruction on spacecraft systems, as well as physical fitness routines to help them withstand the effects of microgravity. Once selected, Astronauts may participate in various missions, including space shuttle flights, stays aboard the International Space Station (ISS), or potential future missions to the Moon or Mars.
