Role description
augments the defence force’s combat power through the provision of offensive support coordination, indirect firepower, surveillance, target acquisition, and ground-based air defence. Artillery influences the battlefield by providing indirect fire support, systematic surveillance, accurate target acquisition, subsequent destruction, and by defeating or weakening enemy combat air power. Work under various conditions depending on the type of weapon system responsible for. Some spend time in-field undergoing training exercises, and others reside and work aboard ships.
